Hello All.
Not just the time for the easter egg, but there are no more season
This out yew H= 115mm
Two natural edged parts with an ash hollow cylinder (dyed in orange with ink) to serve as rim of the box.
Only polished with shavings.

Lionel - that is so cool! Great imagination! This really took some thought as to layout, form and color! Impressed with your finish - especially considering it was burnished with shavings and not sanded! That speaks very well of your tool control! Very nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Hé là ! (in french in text) Steve. Egg IS sanded ad 320 and THEN burnished.
My tool control is not so effective...

This is stellar work! Did you do any measuring as far as matching the sizes of the bottom & top sections?? They appear to really fit together well. Very nice work. What is the finish?

Hi Nathan,
I've done the last turning with the top and bottom joined. That's spindle turning.
I've to confess there is a litle litle off center between the orange part (a two part hollow ash cylindre that act as joint of the box) and the upper and lower yew parts.
As I said, sanding ad 320 and then polish wit shavings. Yew is a marvelous wood.
Picture & sketch will speak better.
