i built this cabinet for a recent drum sander purchase. although it works well, the ~100 lb weight of the sander makes lifting it into the operating position a bit challenging. i'd like to install something that would assist the lifting process, like the pistons that help lift the rear tailgates on minivans. anyone know of a source for something like that which could be screwed into my sander cabinet? i thought about a screen door opener, but they tend to be too large and lack sufficient power. thanks

I just went to Amazon.com, and entered

gas strut -shock

(to eliminate shock absorbers)

and got about a million versions.

Any auto parts store.

Grainger.

Should be a very easy thing to find. Attachment methods should all adapt to your use, pretty easily.
