I wish I had taken a before picture of this. This is from a very gnarly flowering almond bush that was given to me by friend, and fellow Creeker Paul Douglas. I honestly did not even know where to start on this, and the form is not what I originally intended, but because I wanted to save as much of it as possible, this is how it turned out. It is 8 1/2" tall, by 5" at the widest.

I learned a couple of things from this. One I need a better direct light source, and two, I need either a smaller , or differently designed tool rest. It got pretty chattery towards the bottom.

ALRIGHT RAY! Yes, I wish you had a before you started picture. Then everyone could really appreciate what you accomplished. Very nice job. I still have the root ball. This is the same bush I made my last little bird house out of. It is beautiful wood. Maybe I should plant another and wait 20 years!

Richard, after turning the outside, I wrapped it with blue painters tape. Somebody on this forum does this. Seems to work.
