I have a customer that wants some wood letters cut out for her sign by the road. The sign is 2' X 8' and there are 20 letters total. I know a lot will depend on the material we use for the sign and my laser (60 Watt) would probably only cut up to 3/8" thick with multiple passes. Any suggestions from you great sign makers out there?? I already have the letters set up for vector cutting.

Thanks ahead of time.

My regular cutting price for 1/4" material (one pass) is $1/inch of letter size per letter. In other words, 2" letter is $2. Then I add the material cost at double what I paid, and any time and materials for painting the letters or adhesive back. I do a lot of them, so do this to make it easier rather than having to run a letter and count the minutes every time. I do add more for a more intricate font that will take longer.
