    Plane choice for a beginner?

    Thread Starter: Scott Archi

So I sold some of my sharpening stones (about $600 worth) and am wanting to invest some of that in a hand plane or two. My dad is letting me borrow his Stanley block plane which I am getting on well with. I want to say it's about 7" long so not a tiny plane. I was making shavings last night 0.0015"...

Trotec VS Epilog (yes, another thread)

    Thread Starter: Ivan Shuliak

Hi, I know, we've got lots of threads about which one is better but most of them got the same answers: Choose based on support you get from your rep, Trotecs built like tanks, Epilogs are USA made etc. But, having two of Epilog machines (Zing and Fusion M2) I want a Trotec machine, because...

Lie Nielsen Blades Not Staying Sharp

    Thread Starter: Adam Chevalier

    New Laguna lathe

    Thread Starter: Greg Parrish

Received my new 18/36 today. OMG it is so much better than the Nova Comet, and I know that isn't a fair comparison, but it is amazing the difference in experience the extra power makes. I have some fine tuning to do on the layout, location, etc but it's a start. I'll be building a sand box for it...

Connecting Ducting to 8" Dust Gorilla Pro Oddity

    Thread Starter: John Sayen

Hi all, We're starting to hookup our quick clamp ducting to the 5hp dust gorilla pro, and noticed an oddity. The 8" port that the connector would slide over is less than a half-inch deep on one side, and it's pretty cruddy at the weld. The reason I'm asking is because I can't get the 8"...

How to keep the lid closed on a sliding lid boxes ??

    Thread Starter: Bill Huber

I have made a few sliding lid boxes but I am not sure how to keep them closed. I make them loose enough so they will slide easy and will not get really tight when I put finish on them or the weather changes but still wind-up with a loose lid that will slide out if the box is tilted. So what is...

Really nice, I love the sapwood on the edge of the table.

Yes. I have been looking at that one too, but the older style Veritas looked ideal.
