I've been corresponding with Woodcut about the Max 3 on the Grizzly lathes
They recommend that you either order the bowlsaver with a custom 8 inch (long) tool post, or have one made by a local machinist.

As noted in my earlier posts on the McNaughton, a custom post is also required, I'm about to pull the trigger on having one made by a local machinist.

Ralph, my Bowl saver max 3 works on my 0766 just fine in the factory banjo from Grizzly, with its 6" post and it has about 1.25" -1.50" down in the banjo hole once the lock collar is positioned on the shaft, enough to secure it well. I guess an 8" post would allow more post in the banjo, but mine works fine. YMMV!

I had a longer post made by a machinist and it sure made for a more solid feel when coring. I think he charged me around $25.00
