    Stratocaster Build - From Scratch

    Thread Starter: Julie Moriarty

While I'm waiting for the parts to arrive for the Tele (delivery is slow during the gift giving season), I decided to get a start on the guitar that I've wanted for a VERY long time. :) I went to Guitarre Plans and downloaded everything I could find on the Strat - .jpg, .pdf, .dwg & .dfx. ...

    The One Stone Challenge

    Thread Starter: David Weaver

Maybe more of a challenge for everyone else, I've pretty much been following it already. But by the one stone challenge, I mean picking one stone (that you already have) that you will use for your entire sharpening process, and using it for everything (all of your planes, all of your chisels)....

    Living "Off the Grid"

    Thread Starter: Rich Riddle

Given the discussions in other threads, I have a serious preference for watching professionals do woodworking vs. the kinds of things that we've been talking about lately. Most of the stuff aimed at beginners gives no...

    stropping

    Thread Starter: Noah Wagener

What is happening with a strop? That green paste is the same size as a fine synthetic finish stone so why not just use a stone? Doesn't the strop contact the edge itself rather than just one plane or the other that a stone would? Doesn't that round the edge? And what about unloaded strops? What...

    On Customer Loyalty ... ?

    Thread Starter: Bill Stearns

Hey All - While some profess to have gained a high degree of customer loyalty, others say there is no such thing! Wondering? - Has anyone yet tried developing a "loyalty building program" for their engraving business? - a "promotional way" of generating (ensuring) greater repeat business?...

Actually I don't strop much myself either. I get good edges from an 8000 Naniwa stone, have often looked for other sharpening stuff, but didn't venture
