End vise advice: traditional or wagon?

    Thread Starter: Mike Cogswell

I'm posting this here instead of the workshop forum specifically because I'm seeking advice in the context of hand tool use. I currently have two workbenches, a long (16' or so) one that is basically a butcher block top on base cabinets. It's almost 30 years old, but was really intended for use...

    Chainsaw advice

    Thread Starter: Phil Labowski

I know I didn't do it I never had the...

Ok, we need some pictures. While many of you will be using lasers my friend Paul has a Chevalet. This tool was created in the late 1700's for production marquetry. It has a foot activated clamp to hold your stack of veneers and a "D" shaped saw that is held perpendicular to your cut but will move...

    Minivan for hauling plywood?

    Thread Starter: Michael Kellough

I checked and it's been a few years since a similar thread ran so... Which minivans are long enough to carry full sheets of plywood with the lift-gate shut? I'm about to replace a first gen Ford Windstar. It is a few inches too short. I don't know if the Windstar/Freestar ever grew long...

    DC filter cleaning question...

I'd put a vacuum hose fitting and use a shop vac on a horizontal cartridge so when I clean with compressed air the dust doesn't settle back into the filter.
