The catch being, make it completely and totally by hand. No electric at all with the possible exception of drilling a hole in the cutter. Hi, the first photo shows the workpiece with backer board installed, note that the cutter is fully guarded while this is taking place.
Additionally, When I did this change over with a byrd cutterhead into a jet 15 planer I also changed over the infeed and out feed rollers. Replaced both

Hi, the first photo shows the tenon hood installed on my shaper, complete with a 125mm cutter. I also have a 220mm cutter for deep tenons.
