    Electric Bass Guitar Build

    Thread Starter: Julie Moriarty

My SO wants a bass guitar. And I'm getting bored watching the lacquer cure on the other guitar. :) I took some 1:1 scaled drawings of bass guitars, glued them to 1/4" MDF, and started cutting templates. The neck and back are completed, with the exception of the neck heel. I don't want to cut...

Why don't you use ceramic stones?

    Thread Starter: george wilson

Maybe I got lucky. My flattening of the White stone took about an hour, using a used diamond stone. It was slightly out of flat, and had a fuzzy spot of ceramic that had to go. I have seen pictures of "sawn" looking ceramic stones by Spyderco(my brand),but haven't encountered one personally. I got...

    Marking gauge cutter material?

    Thread Starter: Daniel Rode

I'm thinking about making a small panel gauge. Around 16" capacity works for my needs and I'm going to probably go with a triangular bean and a wedge to lock it in place. I want a knife style cutter. A wheel shape or a flat cutter would work equally well in my mind. I'd really like a thin cutter...

Parallelogram Jointer vs Dovetail ways? Which to choose??

    Thread Starter: Dave Kirby

Hi everyone! I sold my 6" Jointer a while ago and have regretted it ever since. Now it's time to replace it; so I'm gonna take the opportunity to upgrade to an 8 inch machine this time. I'm torn between a Jointer with Parallelogram tables or the standard style tables that run on dovetailed ways. My...
