    Your Best Nifty Shop Tip?

    Thread Starter: Russell Neyman

It's the small things that often make the biggest difference. I've found that the crafty veterans seem to know a little trick here or there that make turning better, safer, faster, or easier. So I'm throwing out a challenge: give us your best "nifty" and when this thread is done, it will make a...

Is CBN simply worth the extra cost?

    Thread Starter: Matt Mackinnon

I knew from the start that getting into woodworking was going to be a very expensive hobby. And even more so when I took up turning. Thread Starter: Jamie Buxton

You can make a workbench, or you can buy one. You can make your own jigs (for instance a shelf-pin...

    Sharpening technique--removing the wire edge

    Thread Starter: Steve Voigt

Hi all, This post may portray me as embarrassingly stupid and inefficient, but whatever. Here goes. For the last 15 years, regardless of the sharpening media, I have used the following method: 1) hone a secondary bevel on a coarse stone until I can feel the wire edge on the back, all the way...
