    Hi Andy,

First, thank you for kindness and not lashing out at me like several other members have. Contractors and all this is so new to me, so thank you, genuinely
    .
Second, I checked my city and county for any permit information in regards to stairs, no permit is required for repair or refinish work. It is actually fairly vague. It essentially only requires permits for structural changes to the home, like if he had to take out The stringers.
  2. John, my duct was all PVC flex and am gradually replacing with metal. The only reason for switching is to get better CFM as I'm upgrading a machine and it needs more suction. I've run with PVC for years with no static issues. The Rod Cole article is here http://www.woodcentral.com/articles/...cles_221.shtml as well as a lot of other websites

Thank you for the hose information. You said, " Like Jamie and Hoang, have never bothered with wire and never had an issue with static. I believe this is not an issue in small shops at least according to the article from Rod Cole".

Do you also have metal duct as they do?

And, can you tell me where the Rod Cole article can be found?

    John Neel
