Dan, someone posted a message that you might be interested in engraving a gift plaque. A friend of mine would like this done. She lives in Kensington, Md. It's an engraving from a line drawing, an image of a cross. If you are interested, pm me back with contact information she can use.

    Thanks,
    Larry Klaaren

    Hi Dan,
About the CVT; I don't think it's going to be a problem. Before I bought the Nissan I checked out some of the owner forums. One guy from Canada did a lot of miles under arduous conditions and was concerned about the state of the CVT. Apparently the CVT has a computer chip that logs conditions and allocates a score for each cold start/hard accel/manual shift etc, and can be read by the dealer for service purposes. He had it checked and the score was way below a service requirement despite the hard use and harsh environment. I can't remember the figures, but his result seemed to indicate the motor would go out well before the CVT.
I understand that if you abuse the CVT with burnouts it will overheat and go into 2nd gear only limp-home mode, but they seem to be pretty robust.
