  1. Hi John, a little while back, you said you were going to convert your drum sander to h&l. How is it going? Is it worth it? Have you tried the less heavy duty version of Abranet with you h&l surface?

    Thanks, Sébastien
  2. Glad you took the plunge, Rick. As you now realize, these things are meant to be used, not admired...at least that's how I feel. Have fun with your "new" chisels

    Hello John..

I wanted to thank you for that video. I have a Worksharp.. but I think I have never had the guts to really use it.

I am a powertool guy who uses chisels and hand planes when power tools won't do the job. I have great chisels, but never really knew the difference between kinda sharp and actually sharp.

I hope you like the Henry Taylor Paring chisels.. I have a full set of Crank necked HT Paring .. after watching your video.. I just threw caution to the wind and sharpened the darn things.. I had screwed around, treating them like they where made of glass.. After finishing my 1" Crank neck.. following what you did .. I suddenly realize.. These are darn good chisels ! ... lol.

BTW.. When re-doing my set of Crank necks.. I also decided to redo the bevel to 25 degrees.. I actually get curly shavings from these chisels now..

    Thanks.
