Hey sorry its taken me so long to get back with you, truth is Im not on Sawmill Creek much these days. As far as the segmented bowl goes I would highly recommend Macolm Tibbets book on segmented wood turning. Its a great value at twice the price and can tell you what you need to know. In a nutshell I glued up several "rings" of 8 segments each, then stacked and glued the rings together to make the blank. Its a process in of itself but something that can be taught easily.
