  1. John:

Thanks for the nice comments on the shop. In regards to the heating, there is no furnace required with the radiant heat. The heat is supplied with the water heater and two pumps for the two zones. I have a zone upstairs and downstairs and each zone has a thermostat. Once the temperature drops below the set temperature for the zone, the pump will come on pumping the hot water through that zone. The water will then return into the water heater to be reheated. This is what is called a closed system as the water heater is only used for heating the building and not anything else. It is very efficient as it does not take much to reheat the returning water as it is still relatively warm.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks,

    Damon

Thank you for posting all the pictures of your shop construction. There will many of us with small basement shops who are so jealous. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy the shop.

In your mechanical room upstairs, I did not see a furnace to heat the water for your radiant heat. Is that simply done with a hot water heater?

    Thank you,
    John Neel
