Recently finished shop
Hello, thought I would share some pictures of my just finished shop. It is 22 x 30 with a storage room upstairs. I had contractors do the tree clearing, grading, concrete, vinyl siding and metal roof. I did the all the wood work and stacked stone. Started 9/2011 and finished (if its ever finished) 9/2012.

brother. you did a REALLY good job on that.

What's upstairs? Storage?
-
I really like the elevation. I could move in there! Beautiful workspace.

What a beautiful structure. Congratulations; very nice.

Thanks everyone. Yes, the upstairs will eventually be insulated and finished. At the moment I use it for storing all kinds of things and dry stacking lumber. The draw back to my design is you have to carry everything up the stairs on the outside.
If I had placed the stairs on the inside though I would have lost a lot of floor space. I have always liked the look of bungalow, arts and craft. That is what I modeled my plan after. I used to build and remodel a long time ago, but when you build for yourself you can do things clients wouldn't want to pay for, understandably. I always wanted to do an eyebrow dormer but never did, that's why I did the curved roof on the bay window on the back of the shop.

Schweet!!! Really nice house for your tools. Smart idea to mount the stairs on the exterior. I would hate to take space from the shop interior with stairs in the way. Beautiful exterior.

John,
Your shop turned out great. I like the exterior design with the upstairs, and steep roof. I think you did a good thing building the stairs on the outside. Everything really looks outstanding.

Yes I agree the stairs on the outside is a great idea. I put my stairs on the inside and lost a 5 X 12 area.

That looks nicer than my house. And I have a nice house :-). The outside stairs are a great idea.
