We have heard this tune every weekend for years. Never knew it was a song from the 30's.
Just thought I would pass this little bit of history along.

Slap my face!
It certainly is a woodworking song.......
Is it from a TV show?
I always thought that music had that speakeasy-blues flavor to it, but I never really gave it any thought beyond that.
I'd recognize that song anywhere. Now I'll be thinking of TOH and Fats Waller.
Thanks for posting.
Love those history tidbits. Thanks.
Richard
A local NPR station plays this as filler music and I always thought they stole it from This Old House---guess not.

Great bit of information Dave. Thanks for posting this!
There is an Iphone app out there that names songs for you. My son-in-law has it, you hold the Iphone up and listen to the song and then it will come back and tell you what the song is.
Great information!! Thanks.
Who would have know there were words to that song.
Glad everyone liked it.
