And it won't happen until 2125 for most of the US.
Please people. Only look directly for the transit through welding goggles or other similar protection. Without protection, the ony safe way is to project the image of the Sun through a pinhole on one sheet and on to a second sheet (white cardboard works best).

I followed it from first contact till sunset with a telescope. Nice to come out every 10 minutes or so and have the telescope tracking it for me. Yes I had a full aperture filter over the front of the scope.

Hi, these photographs are from a co-worker of mine (Marcus Centurion) who kindly allowed me to post them here.

Nope. I got the same sun spots. You can't see them in this pic.
I put my spotting scope on a tripod, and focused it on a white board.
