A Few More Cabinets...
As we get ready for winter up here it's time up the shop time and start our winter projects...
My first one will be a few more cherry cabinets for my shop.
Got a few weeks under my belt on this and the plan is starting to come together.
A bunch of sheets of cherry ply and a lot of clamps.
I need a total of 15 carcasses for this shop upgrade.

My first batch of carcasses will be for a dedicated morticing station.
8 in total for this part of my shop.
Attachment 211287
The last 7 are for my chop saw station.
The uppers were done last year and this is to finish it off.
There are also two more that are in the finishing room and they are a DVD cabinet and TV cabinet.
Attachment 211288
All of the lowers will have sliding shelves.
And will be made to fit certain tools.

And my first two carcasses all done except for the drawers.
Small victory a couple of nights ago....
All the drawers will have hand cut dovetails and the drawers will get done when the carcasses are installed.

As so what are we shooting for?
A couple of years ago I did another little upgrade...
My Neander Haven.

Most of my shop should look like this in a couple of months.
Or so the game plan goes.
Hope everyone is getting a little shop time.

With as much of a head start, its either going to be a long winter or your going to run outta work before spring! :)
-
Love your work Gary.
You have a shop to truly be proud of.

Wow, what nice looking work. Mine will be no where nearly as nice.

Think I'm going to "borrow" your idea and make the shelves in my new shop cabinets slide. I've heard of the notion before, but seeing it makes the advantages obvious. Great work and thanks for the pictures!

Gary, those are beutiful cabinets.

Add a granite countertop and I'll come over and cook you a meal!
Very sweet,
Jeff :)

Saw Blade Cabinet.
I got a couple of more carcasses done and the BLO on them.
One of them will be used for my saw blades and dado sets.
Pretty straight forward but I'm happy the way it turned out.
You got to love these sliding shelves.

Gotta say...every time I see your shop I just drool! I hope to eventually have everything built in like you have it! Great job!!

A serious warning to you Gary. IF the cabinets in your wife's kitchen are not better than what you just completed you are in for some serious and lengthy grief. It has been 8 years since I completed an 8 foot run of upper and lower cabinets with formica countertop in my bench room. When I show the shop to anyone who hasn't seen it before and Sue is home tags alongs and is sure to comment on how my shop cabinets are better than what she has in the kitchen. This naturally isn't true, she just likes what I made better from both the design and color viewpoints, but the remarks continue.
As they used to say in the 18th century Navies, "Stand by for a broadside."

Thanks guys.
I understand what your saying Dave. My wife still gives me the odd comment on my Neander Haven...
With more of the shop turning to cherry I'm thinking I will need to make up a lot of brownie points.;)

I think you need to use another clamp on that glue-up. You should put it... on... um... well, nevermind. :)
You have a really nice shop thanks for sharing!

I'm very impressed with the cabinets. Nice work.
I'm jealous of all those clamps.

How about a shop tour Gary?

The shop tour will have to be in the works Paul.
It's pretty much torn apart right now but as these new cabinets go on the wall a tour will unfold..
May take a month or so but it will happen....
