Child's table, help with proportions

Christmas present for my toddler daughter. Looking for some help on the proportions. I think It looks OK, but could always use a second opinion. I tried to follow the "number progression" design theme. Ie - 1" top plus .75" = 1.75" overhang + .75" = 2.5" leg width + .75" = 3.25" apron. The top is a "golden rectangle".Is the 1" top too much? I'm going for "country" not "clunky" Legs & apron will be painted, top will be maple or cherry (haven't decided). I picked out the legs from osborne to save time.

I am in the process of building a table and 2 chairs for my toddler grandson. I have looked at several different designs. I am going with:

TOP: 3/4" X 24" X 24"
LEGS: 1-1/2" X 1-1/2" X 18.75"
APRONS: 3/4" X 2-1/4" X 19"

This makes the overall height 19-1/2" and the overhang 1".

The 2-1/4" height of the apron was selected to allow plenty of leg room.

I also wanted to keep the weight down on the table as I see it being moved quite often.

Any details on the chairs? I'm torn, I'd like a couple of windsor style, but I really don't have the time to invest... Looking for something quick to build.

First pass on a chair - still a little clunky, I may make the legs smaller.

I simply make the child's piece 2/3 of the regular piece. That goes for all the measurements-thicknesses, ht., etc. Ben

My chairs are quite similar to your design except for the total height of the back. My back legs will be 21" long.

Also the seat will have two notches cut into the back of the seat, one for each leg, to allow the seat to extend back to the rear of the legs. The seat will be 12" x 12" and the top of the seat will be 11" above the floor.

The legs are 1-1/2" X 1-1/2".
