It is defiantly a beautiful piece Jeff. In this pic the shoulder and rise appear appropriate, but in the first one it was equally well done. As you mentioned, a little attention to the foot, so it "doesn't go splat" as was once explained to me, will help. Finish is my favorite...good low sheen/matte...the wood really has the stage!
Jeff - the second photo showcases the profile much better. While I can see having the foot slightly smaller - it is not necessary as the piece appears balanced as is. I like the shoulder height and the flared lip. Very nice work!
Just me - but when I take photos of my forms, I try to make it so that you just peak at the opening enough to know the piece is hollow. (your second photo is a great example of what I mean) Anything taken from a higher perspective tends to distort the form - in my opinion.
Beautiful wood and a form to do it justice.
