I just wanted to update this and thank everyone again for their input. The guy brought the logs into town and I ended up buying them for $60. Today a got some time to cut into a couple of them. They aren't in the greatest shape but I think I got my money's worth. I cut up a few of the smaller pieces and made some pen blanks to recoup my costs. I still have a tone of wood left. I am a happy camper.
