Metal-tipped table legs - how?

Haven't been around much lately due to limited woodworking time, but I hope y'all are doing well!

The wife has commissioned me on another project, new nightstands to go with our new bed (which I am also building...going to be a busy fall/winter). Of course, the design she has come up with incorporates some bling, namely metal-tipped tapered legs. I have seen some articles here and there on brass-tipped legs (she wants chrome though), but can't recall where or remember the details.

What's the best way to go about chrome-tipping tapered table legs? Is this type of hardware readily available in a variety of sizes, or does it require a custom job with someone who actually knows what they're doing with metal?

Thanks for the link, Dave. Unfortunately they'd be 4-sided tapered legs and not round. So far the closest thing I've been able to find is http://www.whitechapel-ltd.com/mm5/m...alue=&CpField= but their selection is all brass.

Have you looked at Van Dyke's?

You may want to check out the Lee Valley hardware catalog or web site. They have some nice hardware in a dizzying variety.
