Thank you Andy Hoyt!!!
Much our surprise...and even more to our enjoyment...Andy sent us the product of a cherry burl I brought him on my visit this spring. (See that http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=34575)
If you look close at the picture of the little bottles of beer in that post (picture here http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachme...5&d=1144698296) you can see the cherry burl.
He explained how he created it here - http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthre...d=5960&t=41807
Now we have it here...

It's tough to shoot through that crinkled Stickley glass so here's a little better shot with the door open...

I need to spend some more time to get all the shots set up...but here's a closeup...all lite up...

Wow Glenn, what a gloat !!!:) :) Not to many people have an original HOYT. Well I guess that makes since as he really doesn't turn that much:D
-
Yep...That's really nice Glenn. You've found it a nice home too!
Andy gave me a box of shavings once. I liked them. But not enough to display them. Congratulations! :)
-
Ain't that just like Andy to give a guy a bowl or hollow form with a big hole in the side?  :D
Congrats Glenn!
Nicely done Andy!
-
I'm sure he sent Bondo in a seperate box.
-
Actually...there are three holes...
but I won't count the one on the top.;) :D

Ah ha! So that's where it got off to. Been looking all over for the darned thing, so I could send it to Keith.
Oh well. Sorry Keith - since I no longer turn you'll just have to make Glenn an offer.
My pleasure, Glenn.
-
Keith......offer Glenn some of that Moxie you won't drink......

and the thing is famous. Congrats Glenn.
