Any old timers recognize this?

I found a few old pictures in my grandmothers stuff and wondered if anyone knew where this was taken. My guess was southern Cal. or Mexico. There are 2 or three more, but this shows the most. I think the very tall sign says Alhambra. Times sure have changed.
