for best work flow?

Lets just say: jointer, planer, tablesaw
bandsaw, and router table

I think I'd place the planer closest to the DC, followed in order by the jointer, tablesaw, bandsaw and finally the router table.

The general rule for ductwork is of course, the shorter and straighter the better. If you can group machines together so a single drop can service more than one machine it will simplify the ducts being shorter overall. Here's an example. This drop services my planer, jointer and router table. I also use the router table connection for my floor sweep.

If you have the choice, machines that demand the most airflow should be closest to the cyclone. Planer, jointer are the obvious candidates to be closest.

But in the end, you'll probably just have to make do with where your machines fit best in your shop - and you probably won't be able to tell the difference in dust collection.

I like the idea of single drop for multiple machines
just wonder how grouping of machines would help work flow too
