I just finished welding up a stand for the midi lathe we bought our daughter. At this height the centerline is right at my elbow. It will go down 4" from there and up a lot. I'm going to build a plywood box for my daughter to stand on so she can use it at the same height, then I'll cut that down as she grows.

Way to go, dad! How old is she now?
9 now or as she reminds us, 10 in 6 weeks.
Forgot to mention this is a test fit--still need to clean it up and paint it before we use it. Otherwise it'll never get done :D
