Cant find fairly recent thread about website design software

OK - I give up. I've tried Google searching and Advanced searching for a thread that I think came up about 2-4 weeks ago. Someone was requesting input on website design software and there were quite a few replies. I want to investigate some of the free ones but cant find the blasted thread. Anyone remember who started the thread or anything else I could search on that would help? Or even better - a link to the thread?
I've tried various combinations of the following search terms: "website", "design", "software", "free" and I'm getting nowhere.

I can't remember the thread you are referencing but someone recommended this open source program awhile back and I have been using it since.

Ditto NVU. I haven't done any web page publishing but I have saved web pages and opened them in NVU to "see how they work". One seeming advantage of using open source software is the pages produced should work equally well with all browsers, it seems to me.

Thanks guys. I did briefly look at NVU at work a little bit after seeing Keith's post. It looks pretty good. I'll probably download it and play around a bit with it this weekend. Still bugs me that I cant find that earlier thread though. Oh well - I don't actually have any pics of the thread, so maybe it never really happened?
