Here is a of picture of the bottom of the Sycamore bowl.
Hey Glenn.....
That's too purdy to leave laying around like that....better send it to me for safe keeping. :D
That's beauty Glenn. Great presentation and finish on some nice wood.
Great piece of work as usual, Glenn. How did you ever get that super finish on green wood?
Lou
I have the same question. You did a tremendous job!
Haven't been posting much lately because I've been so busy... but still been looking at this site everyday! Anyway, that is a really beautiful piece of wood. The rich red color is really pretty and the finish is awesome. I am just curious why the front edge is thicker than the wings? Was trying to figure out how that happened... did it just start to warp before you finished turning it?
I just have to comment on this one, it's very nice.
Glenn it is beautiful. I really like it.
Nice work Glenn, outstanding finish.
Glenn that is an awesome bowl, gotta love that Sycamore.
Bee-utiful is all I can say
Glenn that it is very nice, and Big. I love Ne bowls

The sides are probably thicker than the ends because I sanded more on them. I could have acted as an artist and said I wanted it like that to express a bird or a feeling, but I can't lie to my buddies. Great fininish on green wood? I could probably put a fairly good looking finish on my dog if I could get him to hold still, and I had enough lacquer. I can not tell you how many coats of lacquer this one has on it, I lost count, but this will make it dry slowly. I have not buffed this one, and will probably wait for 2 more weeks before I do buff it. I will not sell it for at least 6 months. I have had good results with lacquer on green natural edge pieces. Thanks for your questions and comments. Some of you have asked about how to sign your work. I am including a picture of how I sign mine.
