guessing from the pic , id say red oak..... I was running red oak thru the tablesaw and planer today and the shop just comes alive with that great smell........ :<) Love it !!!

+1 Ive used a feeder for years and wouldnt have a shaper any other way.... Safety is the name of the game !!!

I have a edge sander , tablesaw , Lathe , and shaper w/ 3ph motors , I run them w/ a rotory ph converter.
my other machines another tablesaw , jointer , bandsaw , and planer are all single phase.

The plane is still in the plastic in the box w/ papers, I read somplace that most guys dont use...

Wood is outstanding ! Proportions are good for this Japanese style ! Overall I give you a A+ !!

The last time I shoped for curly maple at the saw mill I had to go thru alot of lumber trying to get halfway...

OK guys I have turned a few Pens over the years and Ive always wondered if there is a better finish than the (Hut Crystal coat {High gloss}) or the Renaissance wax ? Dont get me wrong ,I like those...

All I can say is..................................All of my shop tools are made in the USA- England-Germany -Canada and a couple others that I cant think of off the top of my head...:D
