Well, a router plane can clean up the sides of any size tenons. A medium shoulder plane [I have a LV med] will do shoulders very well. Also a LA rabbet block plane can do a fine job on wide tenons.

Hey John, I'm not so sure about the ingenious, but you're right on the other two counts.

Caspar, thanks, I've stared longingly at the LV plane, but I'm way too cheap to drop $50 on it. It looks...

George, I don't know if the plane can be tuned better to get the "soda straw" spill, or if it's already a done deal. Any advice?

I spent a few hours making and tuning a spill plane.

A spill plane does one thing only. It makes spills. Spills? They are long curly shavings used in the day before matches to say light a pipe ...

I think there is good value in an old Stanley 60 1/2. It's a low angle block, that the LN 60 1/2 is patterned after. You see used ones fairly often for about $25-45. You could even post a WTB in the...

    Citric Acid Bath - HELP

I bought some citric acid powder, and am wondering what concentration to use for de-rusting iron. To process tomatoes, it's 1/2 tspn / quart. Can those who've used it describe the mix? TIA.
