I think you can use sketchyphysics to animate doors and drawers opening, but otherwise it's not particularly useful for what we do.You could use it to add a little bit of flash for your...
On a completely unrelated note, I've just discovered sketchyphysics. I don't think it will help me with the cabinet stretching, but it did show me what happens when you build without nails or glue.
OK, thanks for the help. I guess I just have to do it the hard way. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm assuming that I will have the same problem if I try to model raised panel doors.
I drew a kitchen cabinet that I would like to stretch to use as different width cabinets. Problem is when I stretch the box, it distorts the width of the side panels and the spacing for the drawer....

Zebrawood table with stainless reveals
It was embedded in the plywood from the factory. I've heard of people finding things in MDF and particle board, but I've never had it happen to me. I was in the middle of a drop cut when the blade...

Thanks, 2% is pretty close to the resins I'm used to. I've never used any kind of polyurethane though.
Do you have to catalize it like a resin?
Can someone explain, step by step, how to apply conversion varnish to teak?
Some window shakers are designed to mount in a standard window frame with the glass removed and others have a removable case that you mount first and then install the rest. It really depends on the...
You can also use SOSS hinges to make hidden panels. I'm not sure that I want to know what you're trying to hide.
I've definitely learned a lot from this post. I knew electric tools were available in the time period but I was unaware how common they were in professional use. Just like in the mid 1990s CNCs were...
It makes more sense that they were made with a large free standing machine than a hand held router. Just out of curiosity, when was the hand held router invented?
I am currently repairing an antique walnut buffet that supposedly dates to around WWI, however on closer inspection the drawers are built using dovetails that were apparently cut with a router. My...
I can't tell you how many miles of mouldings I have run on one of those machines. It's very hard to find a comperable machine in the price range. They are capable of very tight radius mouldings.
My idea for the aluminum was that it would be hidden inside of the corner like a piece of spline. I would never build something like this and leave exposed metal reinforcement. I'm not real big on...
I definatley prefer the look of the miter but I think the box joint will be stronger. I may forego the dowel just to keep things simple.
Most table saw blades have a 1/8th inch kerf. That's what I use on my Delta contractor's saw.
I came up with another idea. What do you guys think about using box joints reinforced by a dowel. I know that it may be difficult to find a dowel make of teak, but I have considered using a standard...
I found these guys in Miami. If the teak looks good I'm going for it at these prices.

I was thinking of building it with teak splines so that the splines would expand at the same rate as the rest of the wood. In the upper corners I think an aluminum angle bracket used as a spline in...
Cherry is definately one of my favorites to work with. I take my scraps and use them to cook on.
Thanks for the input. I didn't realize that the Japanese offered so many different options in wooden bathtubs. They just aren't very common in the US.
Does anyone know where I can find a sample of...
