If all else fails try painters tape as a mask, I would suggest the thickest width you can find, I believe home depot or lowes has 3" (so your not there all day.)

The thing you would want to watch is the rapid change in temp, think of a glass. I don't think leaving it off in the garage is a major problem, but I wouldn't operate it till the temp in the garage...

Glad to see you are ok, must be scary. As far as fire extinguishers are concerned you should definitely get yourself a halotron fire extinguisher, pricey but does no damage and cleans up in one piece...

IMHO it really matters what it is your looking to do and what your level of expertise is. I cut 1/4in and glue the boards together when needed, If you have the skill, just get yourself a descent...

Look at the colors you are choosing and there RGB values, you probably need to change them in your corel colors or vice versa to match. Red is not always red, blue is not always blue, etc...
