Thomas,
Simple solution is to clip both corners of your blast gates enough to expose the slide a bit...you can see the small square open gap on the corner of the gate below. This allows the gate...
I work in a commercial cabinet shop in Nova Scotia, Canada, we have been unable to buy BB from our suppliers...it is simply not available. We also use "shop grade" birch ply for cabinet bases, that...
Carriage bolt was my first thought, I think it would work...for a while. The T slot nuts would have a lot more surface area, and fit more securely in the table slot with no chance of spinning,...
Just buy some of these:
465352
They will ride in the slot under the table, and prevent spinning. You can get a knob with the M10 stud, OR, get a slightly longer bolt, and thread it into the Tee...
Hi Don,
I've had the nose piece off my BN200 a couple of times, and they are indeed difficult to put back on. I find the sides need to be spread apart a fair amount to allow it to slip on...more...
Thanks for the replies, Guys...lots of good info. That's an interesting point about the digital caliper mounted to the head...I don't have a digital one, but I do have an analog caliper that reads in...
Gotcha Bill. Thanks
You lost me Bill...don't think you can use a try square to set depth on a planer...
Simply a readout for quick repeatability and accuracy...

Hello All,
At work I use a large planer with a factory digital readout, and I am considering adding one to my 15" planer at home. My planer is the General International 30-115M1 Stationary...
All manufacturing is overseas according to the website.
These came from the factory with a washer under the two front bolts, between the base of the column and the frame to level the saw. They must have been removed at some point.
I have dealt with Elite Tools many times over the past several years...bought shaper cutters, planer knives, King Industrial cabinet saw, all shipped to my home in Nova Scotia, with no issues. As ...
Like John Kee, I wish you good luck, but I will bid you adieu...
You might at least consider Hilton's suggestions above, if you expect to ever attract a new member...
Cheers....life is short,...
Andrew, here's my journey to put a Lie Nielsen iron in a No.8... http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?99429-Plane-Iron-Experiment
It works wonderfully by the way!
Have a look at this thread Brian...worked for me. If your machine has a chip deflector, toss it....
Hello All...long time since I posted here. I was going through some of my old posts and realized I never updated this thread. The epoxied on tabs on the chipbreaker never did hold up, I ended up...
Mark, can you share some pictures of your progress as you build? I am thinking of a post and beam addition to my shop and am interested in seeing how/what you're doing.
Steve
Thanks Larry.
Steve
Rod, the top is MDF (two layers of 3/4" glued together).
Jim, vibration hasn't been an issue so far. Although the base is an open style, it is very heavy and has not moved as of yet.

Dave, the shaper has the...
Just finished this shaper today. This is probably the first time it has run in 30-40 yrs. My only disappointment is the v-belt drive (flat belt just seemed like it would have been more appropriate)....
