Hello everyone, I am finally getting back in the wood shop this fall after a few years of only minimal time in there.
I will be getting a Felder FB-610 band saw in September. I am curious about...
What Mark said is probably the case. Few builders will pay extra to get the garage lighting on a circuit alone. Usually other lighting and receptacle loads are on the same circuit. That is a great...
Kent, if you are in Greensboro you may want to check out Wall Lumber. I bought some purple heart and maple from them in the past. They let me sort the lumber and select what I needed for the...
Another beautiful hollow form with the always great Steve Schlumpf finish. Thanks for posting this. Good luck at the show. I know you will do well.
Congrats on the new lathe. I know you will enjoy it.
Noow that is COOL!! I am sure you will have fun with it.
Dan, good looking HF. Ilike the form and the grain. Afriend of mine gave me a couple of cherry logs yesterday. I hope to try my first HF from some of that wood. Thanks for posting.
Hayes, nice vase. Welcome to the creek. This is the best place for all things woodturning. The people here are great.
David, I really like the form on this. The color and grain are also very nice. Thanks for posting this.
Very nice, I like the two tone effect. I will have to try some pecan if I can find a piece that is green.
Baxter that is a good looking vase. It shows the wood very well. I also like the start to finish photos.
That is a good looking bowl. Congrats on the win.
Steve, I always look forward to seeing your hollow forms. This one is one of the best. I really like the wood. As always the form and finish are great. Thanks for posting this.
What a nice gift. I'm sure he will love it.
Thanks for all the kind words. We cut that tree in December of 08. I turned several bowls in the winter and spring before it spalted. In fall of 09 I was surprised to see what it looked like. I...
David, your form, the figure in the burl, and the incredible voids really make this a great turning. I just can't imagine how you could keep it from breaking on the lathe. This one is really nice.
David, this is very unique. The figure in the wood is nice, however I think the decision to leave sap wood on a refined edge and dye the base and stem black really make this turning stand out.
David, those are great. The claro is my favorite. I have not yet done a hollow form. I hope to do one soon. Thanks for posting this and the other work you have posted. I learn a lot about form...
This is spalted gum I rough turned last November. It measures 8-1/2" X 3-1/2" with 5/16" walls. Finish is BLO and bees wax. I have not buffed it yet. Thanks for looking.

Very nice!! The contrast is great. Thanks for posting this.
Philip, that is great looking wood. I wish I could find wood like that in Eastern NC. Thanks for posting this.
Congrats on the wood. Nice haul.
Roland that looks great. I don't know anything about segmented bowls but that does not lack character. Wish I could do that.
Les, those are very cool. Another hobby of mine is target shooting. I like the way you did these. How long did it take to do all those pens?
