I've gotten a lot more use out of my plow than my router plane too, though you would have to pry my router plane from my cold, dead hands.

Has anyone tried the Stanley files? My closest big box home centre sells them exclusively. They look quite nice, but that clearly doesn't mean much.

Same here. I find baby oil better overall. I wouldn't even consider using mine with water now.
