Problem solved. Really simple: connection between line input and motor became undone. Reattached connection, plugged in machine, voila; success.
Lee - many thanks for your input. Eric
Owned this jointer since late mid 2013 - faithful service until yesterday. Symptoms/Debugging attempts as follows:
1. Plug in/Turn on machine - Dead Silence (running on 110 volts)

If you want to use the dovetail joint on the long shelf, you can either create a simple fence from plywood (12" tall vertical portion, and perpendicular base that is long enough to be secured to the...
What was the length of the stock that you jointed? A sufficiently short stock may give you a false "A OK", is it is to simple for downward pressure to be placed almost completely on the outboard...
I would determine the diameter of the hole for the cutter head guard pivot bar, and see if a part from another machine will fit. I don't think this sort of component has changed very much over the...
Disagree with prior poster re. router coves being "better and more versatile". Re. versatility, the range of cove sizes are nearly unlimited on the table saw, and it is unlikely that one's router...
Check out below video. Note that I used 2 magnetic feather boards to guide the workpiece against the angled fence. Used it to construct moldings for the top of a book case. I thought the effort...
Bill,
First- I've read many of your posts as I lurk on Sawmill Creek and, as your responses have helped me on numerous instances, I appreciate the opportunity to try to assist you.
I glue and...
Why not try retractable casters, such as per below link? FWIW, they are on my workbench, and I am completely satisfied with them.

Checkout this tutorial http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/f13/requested-picture-frames-tutorial-34284/ .
Check this video for a comparison of the 3 options that you list http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/videos/jointer-setup/ . I agree with the conclusion, based on my own experience, that the Oneway is...
So, how long will you store this wood in your shop before you work on it? Do you have a place for 3000 sq. feet of wood, or will you purchase/mill/install as you go? Remember, as you...
Hi Marc,
Seems that this is getting very complicated. Appears to me that if you have even one good blade, that the saw itself is exonerated; i.e., an out-of-round arbor/flange/washer, or...
I did not accuse anyone of saying that GRR Ripper is superior to anything else. I said that I must first be convinced that it is (or could be) superior to my way of working before I try it.
No...
OK - I haven't tried the GRR Ripper. But, given how I work, I don't see the benefit.
My method is to set at least one Magswitch Featherboard on the off-cut side of the piece I am ripping, and...
6" jointer here. Many units have the rabbeting ledge integral to the indeed table; my unit's ledge is a separate piece of bolt-on cast iron. The significance? I regularly flatten 9+ inch boards...
I own a Grizzly G0604X 6" parallelogram jointer, no regrets here. Decision made considering adjustability of tables for coplanarity (parallelogram feature), length of tables (55" is among the...
You might want to check out the Craftsman BAS350. It is the identical Bandsaw to the Rikon 321 except for the paint job. I own it and highly recommend it for its price/performance quotient.
For what it is worth, the manual for the Shop Fox W2005/6/7 Fence (a Biesemeyer clone) calls for a deliberate 1/64 skewness of fence (page 11 in below link, see text and picture under Item 4).

Let's not forget... Dado sets are often as small as 6" in diameter. No reported overheating issues that I am aware of.
Easy - my shop vac. Whether I use a power tool attached to my dust collector, or even a hand tool, the shop vac gets used at the end of each stint in my wood shop.
Huck - I couldn't agree with you more. I am looking forward to receiving the Mag-DRO so that I can fully align both fence and blade to the miter slot (my current work-around with the fence, as...
An earlier forum discussed the possibility of whether a misaligned table saw blade vs. miter slot could cause a top-to-bottom skewness in the sidewall of the workpiece , and, if so, whether the...
