It's a nice machine for the price for sure. The G3 chuck that came with the bundle is sweet. I had an issue with the extension bed and their customer service was absolutely amazing. If I could just...

This is one detail I missed when I did my research. The ranges don't make much sense now that I've used it for a few weeks. (I also thought that the reverse option would be great for sanding, but I...
It's probably a very reasonable compromise, but being a beginner I just don't know enough to determine if a slower speed for roughing is desirable. I can still return the lathe...
The...
I am a beginner. I recently purchased my first midi lathe: Nova Comet II (with extension.) It will be used almost solely for spindle turning. (Bowls - maybe in the future.) The lathe has variable...
Many thanks to all. I think I’ll try the epoxy + wood epox method.
I'd love some advice about the best way to fill large cracks/knots in Walnut. I've been using system 3 epoxy + medium harder + black dye. While I like the look of the black filling, the issue I've...
LOL. I get the back massager comment a lot more than I expected :-)
I made it a while ago... Ash and Sapele. Posting now because..... I have a better camera :-)

Well, the pulley set screws are tight. If I continue to run the jointer then the screech goes away, it does it only when it's cold.
It's really not that loud but due to a moderate OCD I have to fix...
Unfortunately it is not the belt. It makes the screech without the belt.
Motor bearing? What should I do? Just live with it until the motor dies?
I am in the Philly area and I am told it is summer although the temps are not that high yet :-) There was no noise when coasting down or until it came to full speed.
I looked at the belt and it...
Thank you all :-) Happy to continue to represent the (mid-century) modern style :-) I found that MCM generates emotional reaction and brings back memories for a a lot of people. It's so much fun!

I think that the sound does not come from the cutter head. Also - when the motor is turned off the sound immediately stops. Maybe it is the belt...
My 6" Ridgid jointer now makes a high pitch screech. It starts when the jointer comes to full speed and immediately stops when the motor is shut off. Suggestions?
I built this table for my sister's 40th birthday. Cherry and Sapele legs.

Really nice and the finish is to die for.
The table is a present for my sister and I don't have more than a week or so to wait... also I don't want her to have to worry about maintenance. I would still love to give it a more uniform look and...
I just finished a cherry coffee table with Watco Danish oil followed (after a week) by 3 coats of minwax wip on satin poly. I am thinking of applying Johnson's paste wax in top. My only goal is to...
I really like it. It is fairly easy to use and you can re-apply or sand/fix and it will blend into the existing finish. (When applying follow the instructions, watch Peter Parfitt's videos.) I...
Finally finished the matching nightstands (bed project - http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?249107-King-size-platform-bed)
A few new skills for this project: drawers, hand-cut dovetails and...
Stunning! I love it!
I have the same saw and decided to go with: http://ridgecarbidetool.com/saw-blades/ridge-super-blades/table-saw-blades/10-ts2000-super-blade.html
It's priced in the middle, received great reviews...
Thank you all for the great advices!
I decided to keep the 3/8" 6TPI Timberwolf I got with the saw and add a 3/4" resaw blade, probably Woodslicer, soon. Re cost: while I try not to over-spend, I...
Thanks. This is the first bandsaw I have owned, so I am a newbie.
I'd love to hear more opinions. I have a (very good) general purpose blade on my tablesaw, so I wonder if I can get away with a...
I purchased a Laguna 1412 over the weekend :-) I would love to get advice for my first blade. My main uses:
* Tapers and big arches (no detail work)
* Dovetails - (tails onlyr rest by hand)
* I...
