This shop was finished just in time for us to move from Virginia to New Jersey! We moved in April of this year away from VA. Crazy!
We just moved into our new house last week...
I wanted my drill press to be mobile but it had to meet 2 conditions. It needed to be rock solid as it sat in its “normal home”. It also needed to be stable when it was in motion. With the...
Drywall is up! They will start taping/mudding tomorrow. Shouldn't be long now! Still trying to figure out what I want to put on the floor (if anything).
I like the way the insulation turned...
Moving along! The framing is done as well as most of the electric rough-in. Electric should be buttoned up on Monday, inspections on Tuesday, drywall starts on Wednesday!
My wife said she hopes...
Wade,
What Grizzly DC model do you have?

Mike,
I agree completely. The nice part is that I am having a 100 amp sub panel installed in the shop. When push comes to shove, it will be easier to add more 220's.
Each of the 220 (240) outlets are installed on their own 30 amp circuit. The 20 (110) outlets are installed across 6 (six) 20 amp circuits. The lights are installed across 2 circuits.
Hey Mike. The "boss" saw your reply and joked that I don't need any help or encouragement in spending more cash on tools and the like... :)
Thanks Robert. I think that is a good plan.
The contractor starts finishing our basement tomorrow. Which means my shop will be ready to roll in a few weeks! There are already 2 (110) outlets in there. I spec'd out 18 more (110) outlets and 2...
We will be in the new house in about 4 weeks. Can't wait! Here is a more detailed layout of the shop. Looking forward to getting in there!

You know I tried. The boss put the kybosh on that one immediately!
The saga continues! We signed papers on having another house built. It will be delivered around Mid-November. The workshop will have roughly 425 square feet of space (a touch smaller than what I...
I can take a picture of the Jointer, Planer, and Drill press that are sitting in crates in the garage. Looking forward to the moving company having to deal with lugging those things around.
I would be happy with that compared with a hair salon, or a scrapbooking center. :)
Well - here are the final pics of "the shop". I am sad that I won't ever do anything in there. Hopefully the next guy enjoys it!

It is now 100% confirmed. We will be putting the house up for sale and moving. Very sad I won't get to do anything in this shop but looking forward to finding a new space.
Yep - about 99% sure we are outta here! I am sad I won't be able to enjoy the shop or the house we just built... but I am very excited about our new opportunity. Finding a great shop space is tops...
Maybe not Mike. There is a pretty good chance we may be relocating out-of-state. My house may be on the market in the next few weeks!!! It is an unexpected great opportunity, but it will be very...
Just finished reading the article and I was less than impressed. If you spend 10 minutes on just about any forum and can find multiple threads about DC where people recommend adding a Thien Baffle...
Painting is finished. Next step will be flooring. After that I can start moving everything in.

This is what Pentz says about venting outside:
"The health insurance data show at typical exposure levels for shops that vent outside 100% of workers develop a significant loss in respiratory ...
Making some nice progress!
* electric is finished
* drywall finished
It is incredibly bright in the shop. I love it! Almost too bright actually. I may have slightly "over-engineered" how...
My point has nothing to do with people being happy with their purchase. Nothing at all to do with that. It has everything to do with what is in my opinion, very blatant hypocrisy combined with...
But according to Bill and ClearVue, there IS some very hard test data available. Look at Bill's quote. Look at the reference to that quote on ClearVue's site. According to them both, there is some...
