I love natural edge bowls and these 2 are very nice. Love the grain in both but like the maple best.
I unplug everything but for a different reason. Years ago I lost a bunch of equipment because of a lightening strike. Insurance companies have a knack for not paying off on policies for stupid...
I am another advocate of WD-40.
I make balusters for people all the time. I would charge $40 each for this design. More elements equals more money. Never less than $25. You have to remember the only option to replace these...
I made this for the Wood Central benefit auction to help Dave Peebles. It will bridge a 10" bowl and measure 12" deep. Curly Maple with Cocobolo rod.
I use these carbide tipped hollowing tools and handle.248095248096248097
I get all my turning stock from a couple of Tree Service outfits. They will give me all the wood I can handle. Just turn something for them as a give back piece and you will never go without.
Years ago I when I was selling scroll work I overheard these 2 comments a lot. "I have a scroll saw but I can't do that." Or the wife saying to the husband. "You have a scroll saw why can't you do...

I started wearing a 3M AirStream 20 years ago when all I did was scroll work. Originally I bought it because I have a beard and nothing else protected me. I use both the hard hat and soft hood. I...
Sent you a PM.
These are really great. I love the look of the wood. The grain is awesome.
I have some Persimmon that has color and grain are very simular to your box. Persimmon is very dense.
You may be disappointed. Walnuts that large are generally hollow.
Nice haul. I don't recognize the steady rest. Who makes it?
I was asked to make these for a winery. These are made to serve 3oz samples and finger food. They are Walnut finished with rattle can Poly. Walnut is not my first choice but the customer is happy....
Joe you were lucky that you pulled the nails whole and didn't break them off and have to dig deeper. The vessel has a very nice grain pattern. It will be a real beauty.
What a great looking piece of Hackberry. I like everything about this hf.
I went very low tech for mine. A couple thickness of carpet padding and a cheap rubber runner.
I pretty much live in pocket tee shirts. SWMBO was always complaining about shavings in the pockets. I solved the problem with blue painters tape. I tape the pocket closed.
Wally's tip about...
