Urgh!

I'm experiencing a weird problem with my Universal M360. (2002) All the sudden, I can vector cut fine but when I try to engrave the job will start and then at random points in the file it will go...

So the image worked great.......is there a "best way" to in fill the engraved portion on a tile with an uneven surface? What would you all suggest for in fill material. This is going onto a shower...
