Anyone out there selling on Amazon. I did some searching and found some that do. Just wondering how that is going. I also see a lot of crafted jewelry.
Thanks, Lee
I use Capt. Eddie also. However I use them only with resin cast with wood. I like carbide tools and have many on my shop but I find these cutters don't stay sharp after use with end grain turning...
I make a lot of mills and go between six coats of lacquer or two coats of spray poly. With three coats of wax after each. They both look great and both wear very good. I go for a gloss finish because...
Good trick, Don. Thanks for sharing. I cut big chunks all the time and know what you mean.
Cheers

Crush Grind the best but expensive. I have made about eighty of them and looking now for the second best. I grove and epoxy.
He's out of Hampshire Sheen in all sizes.
Peter, try CrushGrind.us for grinders. That's all they sell and right now the 10.2 are $13.45. Good people and I buy a lot of them. Buy a bunch and get a better deal. Have to call for the bunch price...
I get sparks on the back guides mostly if I'm pushing hard. I hate adjusting the bottom guides almost enough that i wish I had not bought the saw.
I make a lot of boxes and learned to fit them loose. Roger, and others, has it right. Women love boxes and they want to remove the cover with one hand. If they move from there they will still most...
I have been dying my Ash mills because of lack of wood grain. Lately I have been dying with two colors and they look great. I use a light coat of sanding sealer first then dye the darker color first...
I'm done with soft rests. Starting to replace them with a hardened top rod rest.
I turn in reverse on spindle hollowing all the time with my Vicmarc. Reverse sand large bowls and never had an issue.
For tool work better look up Brian Havens on the tube. You'll be glad you did.
I have three of there scrapers that are heavy duty and they are just fine.
Don't play "lathe work up". start as higher than you expect.
I use seven coats of lacquer and three coats of automotive wax. Only one year but they look great.
I've had my 3520B do that several times in a year I have had it since new. I have done everything the guys suggested and it has worked. Out of balance doesn't cause it and it is very annoying. I get...
Powermatic service guys are great. Try unplugging for an extended period of time. After this time plug in and try. They told me the capacitors have to fully discharge to re-boot.
I had one for the house and didn't like the smell. I did some research on the net and found your not suppose to breathes too much of it. There's a lot of talk about it.
Took it back.

My new style of mills. four are curly cherry and one honey locust. These are 12' mills.
Yup, the chuck will unscrew. Don't ask me how I know.
Just goes to show you it's not the lathe.
For small lettering on the bottom of bowls what is the preferred instrument being used? I can't find one I like.
Thanks
I had the green discs and found the higher numbers came off easily. I buy from 2Sand now but now they are hard to get off and have to be careful not to tear up my backing pads. I like power sanding...
