Yeah but looking at the entrance on the side it looks around .5 to 1" thick before covered in carpet. I'm not sure what material they'd use for that

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how they built the cone of the glass.
The base and stem could be a standard table stand. The cone though... a friend...
Yeah avoiding gluing was was part of the idea behind bending these; otherwise I'd boxjoint shapes together to make a display.
I may just laser a mdf form to bend these over
I'm going to be making displays similar to this -http://www.palaydisplay.com/Knife-Display-6-Feature-p-23540.html
The first two I bent around a scrap 2x4 and they didn't wind up straight.
Yeah if I had actual mechanical skill I would do just that
Turns out it is made by a company called Formech and is part of their heat bending setup
They sell them separately but they are 170. I may laser cut some protractors and try to rig up something...
Hey guys! I'm getting ready to make a bunch of acrylic knife display holders using my laser and am having a hard time finding a decent plastic bending fixture.
Techshop seems to have these in...
Joe, I've been staring at those signs and it looks like they are clear acrylic with colored LEDs in front of a black or dark background? Am I interpreting that correctly?
Also, sent you an email,...
Wow. You guys have done some incredible work with these signs. I'm a complete novice when it comes to building electronics, but I've got some ideas like these that I'd love to build using my...
I'm wondering if a slope or taper between the wall and the drop slot would be a good work around
I'm trying to build a thien top hat for my shop vac. I posted on Phil's forum but wanted to xpost here for additional suggestions / help

What's really killing me here is that the blade lock takes the blade so far out of true. I'm probably going to just pick up a masterplate and use that to guage alignment in the near future, but the...
Let me preface this by saying that I am a novice woodworker and I probably could have saved myself a world of grief by checking for proper alignment when purchasing the saw. Alas, at the time I...
I've got a Bosch 5412L miter that's been residing on a crappy HF stand for a couple of years. Needless to say the stand is not stable and the lack of support for long pieces is leading to uneven...
Update: hit it with the green scotchbrite on the orbital sander. Most of the corrosion is gone, and the surface feels very smooth with wax on it. There's still a light amount on there, and I'll use...
Any feedback on particular abrasives to use? Is a green scotchbrite on an orbital sander going to screw up the table?
I use Bon Ami at the house for various surfaces, that's comparable yes? Will the acid the barkeeper's friend mar the surface?
Hey guys
I'm relatively new to woodworking and like probably legions ahead of me, should have read more before doing things. In my case, I purchased a JET saw, assembled it, cleaned off the cast...
Suspended ceiling with cinderblock walls going above them. And still have the cinderblock leading to the outside regardless.
No soffit unfortunately, I had that wishful thought as well. Thanks...
The office windows are Plate glass, they don't open. Otherwise that'd be my first choice.
I've got a Epilog Helix inbound, scheduled to be delivered July 2. As part of the lease they included this exhaust blower:

Is saw tuning something that will be in the manual or is that something I'll have to research in depth?
Thanks for the great comments guys!
True enough, dropping another 2k on a bandsaw and then planer, jointer, etc was is daunting.
Yeah there's a number of mills around (almost)locally that have...

This is the saw you guys are talking about, yes? Van, what would the cons be for this machine vs the Laguna?
