Ken - though I don't have that particular device, my experience with electronic equipment says that the first thing to do is change the battery. That usually takes care of 95% of my problems.

Dan - just wondering where you're going to get the paper. I have a 22-44 and these abrasives sound like a very good (albeit expensive) deal.

Richard - I've had my Laguna TSS on 6" oak blocks since I brought it home six years ago. It's a great height for me and still solid as a rock

    Burl bowl

I have a friend with a nice looking burl who would like to have the burl turned into a bowl.

Anyone here have that kind of expertise and would be interested in taking on the project? If so, in...

"Something a little more stout". Really? You plan on parking your car on it? It's really starting to look awesome.

My rule of thumb, especially for larger pieces like this, is 3-4 x material cost. I've found it comes pretty close to spending a couple hours on wood, electricity, finishes, incidental costs, etc.,...

I'm wondering if this is a technique problem rather than a wood problem. If pressure is applied to the in-feed table throughout the pass, you may get a taper at the end. Try pressure on the...

Dave - speaking as a 26 year cancer survivor, I can say that the stuff they give you sucks, but it's effective.

Apparently the cancer fighting drugs also instill innate woodworking abilities. The...

Jack - you might want to keep an eye out for a used INCA. I'm thinking of one like I had sometime back, the 259. Small footprint, built like a tank but with clockwork precision, nice fence, too. ...

I've had a craftsman TS, a tilting table INCA, then an INCA 12" with an Excalibur sliding table added, then a Laguna TSS.

My opinion on sliders has changed completely over the years. I'm now...

Dick - Nice job on the restoration; it shows a lot of dedication and patience.

Based on stuff in my neck of the woods, seems like a fair asking price would be in the $500-$700 range. YMMV
