I'm wanting to do the same think cut it up for knife blades. If you still looking at doing that the advice I can give you is try anneal the metal. This is for L-6 steel

Does anyone know where I could buy some? I've looked just about everywhere I could think of. I've also looked on ebay but some of the blade they had there where way to much money. I even places a WTB...
