Ben, I would fire up Sketchup and draw one to scale. Doing that will not only yield exact measurements, it will allow you to easily tweak it and maximize the space with custom drawers etc.

Could you elaborate on that statement a little please Dave. I am thinking about buying that jointer. If it is deficient in some areas, I would like to know it before I buy it.
TIA
Do you guys think it's safe to run a 25amp 220v tool off of 12 awg wire? 12 awg wire is rated at 20 amps and a 220 volt tool should only be pulling 12.5 amp on each hot wire.
TIA
Diameter is the measurement from one side of a circle to the other directly through the widest part (middle). The Radius is half of the length of the Diameter.
So if you wanted to create a 20"...
There are a couple of table saw setup videos on this site worth watching.

No, I mean the Bosch SCMS.
I just noticed the Bosch 4212 is significantly cheaper than the 4210. I don't understand why. I would think they are essentially equal with the obvious exception of size. What gives?
The videos on this page (click the 5 images on the top of the page) were what helped me decide that I didn't need to spring for a more expensive jig. The 4212 is pretty impressive as you will see.

Double check the depth stop on your drilll bit is set correctly. You are either drilling too deep, the screw is not the correct size for the material you are using or the drill bit guide is not set...
Glen, if I were you I would make an entire list of the tools you will need before you go buying big-ticket items. You might be surprised how much money you will spend just getting decent (not top of...
You can't look at the amount your spending to make the best decision. You have to look at the difference and decide whether the difference is enough to justify the inferior end result. Let's say...
Hanging a door from rafters is a silly suggestion. Firstly, when doors are hung by their hinges in a door jamb, you have access to all 6 sides of the door anyway and painting them is simple and...
The Porter Cable 4212 site used to have some videos on it showing its verstility. I don't know whether they are still there but they are worth a look if you are interested.
Post a scale floorplan with walls with the doors and windows marked and I am sure you will get more feedback. It's tough to help without a starting point.
Thanks for that Greg. You left out the part about how well it works though. Inquiring minds want to know...
I enjoy working on these kinds of problems so I spent a little time playing with your floorplan Ryan. You have a pretty narrow shop so I would probably deal with it by creating multi-purpose counter...
Sorry for swaying this off topic but I am curious what type of hinges the inside swiveling racks use please.
I got flyer in my email from Grizzly yesterday that had this jig on sale for $25. I deleted the message so I can't give you a link but you can probably search for it.

As usual you guys are a great source of knowledge. Thanks to everyone that offered feedback.
I need to run a 60-100 amp sub panel for my garage workshop. The existing main 125 amp panel sits flush on the outside garage wall and I can get to the back of it from the inside of the garage once I...
Where do you shop please Glenn?
I think you should consider this set before you decide.

I am not affiliated with Amazon or Delta in any way.
Clutching at straws but there may be a reset switch on the motor itself...
I have been thinking of something along the lines of your ideas too. I came to the conclusion that using regular pipe (EMT would be better than black pipe) for the track would not work unless I made...
Contact cement is the way to go. If you have never used it before I suggest you work with a couple of small test pieces to get the hang of it before doing any production work. Rolling it on with a...
