I ask because the larger the disc, the greater the speed on the outer rim.
Two saws with the same rpm, one 10" and the other 12", the 12" will 1.2 times faster at...

Nice work!
Can you tell me how you did the ring holder box?
I'm right in the middle of making a jewlery box myself.
I have a table saw with 0.0005" of runout at the arbor, so things are pretty good, but I still run the blade stiffeners for a better cut.
There are marks/knicks on the stiffeners, blades, and on my...
Any possibility of toothed blade versions in the future Rob?

From Laguna's site " Min-Max blade width: 1/8" to 1" "
The only thing pretty much that the Laguna 14" SUV has in common with other 14" band saws is the throat size, and that's about it.
I have...
I know that Lee Valley and Lie-Nielsen planes are ready to go out of the box, but can anyone tell me if the WoodRiver planes are the same, or do you need to flatten the bottoms?
Is this where the...

Anyone have one yet?
I was hoping for someone to advise before buying.
I am wondering if edge durability will benefit from the added extra steel?
I have a General 8" slow speed grinder, and just recently changed the wheels that came with it to a pair of the cooler running white wheels that LV sell.
I wish I had done it years ago.
The small...
If I were switching angles of attack often, I would buy an extra bench plane blade, since by putting a back bevel on it, you can achieve any angle you want, so if 55 degrees is not enough, then put a...
Try a gander over at YouTube and search for 'drill chck removal' and you will see various methods of removal and installation.
With top-end chucks, you get less run-out, which may or may not be...
I like the Delta 18-900L over the PM2800 because it has a slower low end speed, which is handy for large Forstner bits, and it has a full 6" of quill travel with just one rotation of the feed...
Thanks for the help!
So 1 turn is 0.05" or 1.27 mm.
Thanks!
Before tackling #7 plane blades, I true the surface of my stone with the diamond tip truing tool, TT-50.
Use the Magic Marker trick that they describe in their handbook, and cover the entire bevel...
If you have a keyed chuck, you should tighten all 3 keyed holes around the chuck.
Just before keying the chuck, give the drill bit a 'swirl' around by spinning it with your fingers to make sure the...
I was wondering if anyone that owns this drill press can tell me what the thread guage is on the Depth Stop rod?
Is it Imperial or Metric threaded?
I am wondering what one full turn on the depth...

Last time I checked out Grizzly's site, they had the ShopFox bases on sale.
I like them because the frame is sturdy with rectangular steel tubes on the sides, as apposed to steel bar, and the bases...
Just make sure when you run the plane over wet/dry sandpaper, that you have the blade in the plane, retracted, and at proper tension, so the flattening takes the distortion into account.
The Tormek comes with a quick change nut, that allows you to easily remove the stone, so taking the stone into the house, when freezing temperatures are expected, should not be too much of a problem....
Yes I like to save my money so I can spend it on Hacksaws, and Screwdrivers!!!
