Eye Relief is the distance from the lens to your eye. This is a factor if you wear glasses and at high magnifications. Your Plössl eyepiece has a relatively short relief.

The XT8 has a 1200mm focal length. With the included 25mm eyepiece you'll get 48x power (1200/25 = 48). You can do the math to calculate other eyepieces and combinations with a Barlow like Ken...

I believe that only applies if they have to order a non-standard tooth configuration.

"We can order any tooth pattern you want but you have to buy enough blades to use a 100 ft coil."

I have the same lathe. The spindle is 1-1/2" X 8 TPI.

Grizzly has a chuck with that spindle size (H7820) that I own and find quite adequate for the amount of turning that I do. I also...
