the link you provided shows a handle that was made in 2009. It actually was the very first handle with a lambs tongue, we've ever made. Things are changing. The shape of our sash saw...

Hi Stewie,

Hello woodworkers,
for a few months, I'm the lucky owner of the Ad-Vice from Douglas Coates.

A tool that doesn't only work stunningly but that...
Man Chris, that's a terriffic job! The handle you've built is on of the best I've seen for a long time. Very impressing.
Take care
Klaus
Hi Matthew,
I like your plane lookswise a lot! And by the proper shavings it seems to produce, it would be a shame to throw it on the boneyard. Try some changes of the rear shape and it should be...
+1 on that. I have an idea, that this tool didn't start it's life to become a joke. Could imagine that it has been a serious prototype that was cancelled for economical reasons or so.
Klaus
Glad that you like the handle, Leigh.
Regarding the wonderful work on this hammer head and on some planes you showed here, I've to state that you have a VERY good eye for the shape of tools.

Great offer, George, thanks a lot! I haven't forgotten our deal neither. Actually I am the brake since I'm still unable to use my shop to make handles. The hammer handle I made in the shop of a...
I didn't weigh the head before attatching the handle. The completed hammer weighs 190 grams so the head probably weighs 150 - 160 grams (about 5 1/2 oz)
A few months ago, I was happy enough to get a visit from Leigh Betsch and his family. They spent a few days here in Germany and visited me and my family in my home. Needless to say that I enjoyed the...
Man Leigh! That's something special for sure. A beautiful plane and a very unique one that clearly shows that a lot of thoughts went into. Lucky guy who will get this piece of artwork.
Cheers...
Yes, that's definitely George. I don't know him in person but have seen several videos with him. Thanks for sharing this video. It doesn't only show his outstanding skills. Like with every video,...
The best choice probably Lignum vitae would be. It's the by far hardest wood and it has very good sliding characteristics because of the wood own oils. That's the reason why this wood is used for the...
Thanks Chris for your post!
And many congrats, Zach. Awesome work! There are some talents out there, incredible... Very very fine craftsmanship for sure, classy woodchoice and exquisite execution....
I was a little bit surprised. Went to weigh my chisels and found out that the Veritas PM-V11 19 mm (3/4") weighs 133 grams, the Iyoroi with red oak handle in 20 mm is 137 grams and the Two Cherries...
Lucky son to have this father! Many congrats Mike, you've built an outstanding Christmas present for your first born. He will cherish it. And -echoing David- it still will be used and cherished when...
Hi Derek,
it's probably not the extra step that causes the problem. It's the fact that the workpiece isn't supported by the fence up to the cutting line. There's a gap with the width of this extra...
George, I've seen all parts of these videos. And I enjoyed them a lot. That was about two years ago and that was the moment when I realized your outstanding skills. Sadly those videos didn't work...
Coincidentally I found another video showing George and his crew making a violin and a harpsichord. Hope, the link works.

Thanks for posting the link, Bruce. I'd love to see the whole episode though.

A woodworker and tool user probably doesn't consider to purchase this chest. He rather will copy it and that's ok.
But there aren't just tool users out there. Collectors may have a complete...
WOW, Ron! A beauty of a saw with a very well made handle and a very interesting overall shape. The shape of the blade heel might look some busy on the first glance but the longer I watched the pics,...
Congrats, Chris! You picked out one of the most beautiful dovetail saws that ever has been made ... and you did it in a magnificent way. One of the best rebuilts of the early Kenyon saw that I've...
Hi Chris,
sorry to hear about those issues. I do know them however! Quite often it's indeed a misalignment between blade slot and spine mortise that causes a bending of the blade heel. But in your...
I wished to have only a small part of that talent in metal work!!!
In awe
Klaus
Very well done, Josh! Functional beauty showing classy workmanship. You'll enjoy it every single time you'll visit your shop.
